Coming Up with Great Ideas and Implementing Them

How do you come up with Great Ideas?

I don’t know about you, but I become more creative when faced with challenges. And instead of complaining about them, I’m slowly learning to use challenges as tools to help me birth great ideas. A few years ago, my son’s nebulizer somehow became broken. Unfortunately, when we called the doctor’s office to request a new one; there wasn’t one in stock. The pressure to help my son breath that night propelled me to fix a nebulizer without formal training. You will never know what you are capable of until you face challenges.

How do you come up with Great Ideas

My idea is already taken; so, now what?

Have you ever noticed that every time you come up with an idea, that it has seemingly already been taken? Sometimes that happens with business names, domain names, etc. I believe that happens because everyone in this world is somehow connected to one another. There is nothing new under the sun, and that includes ideas. Sometimes the only difference is how we implement ideas that already existed. Instead of throwing away our ideas because they’re already taken, we should try finding ways to uniquely implement them so we too can transform the world like Apple did with iPhone, and Samsung with Galaxy, etc. The original idea, when talking about a phone, is “Means of Communication”. Don’t feel bad when you discover your idea has already been taken. Instead, implement your idea in a unique way that stands out and transforms the world around you.

My idea is already taken; so, now what

Not every one of your great ideas is for you:

Always jot down your ideas! I know you’ve heard that before. But let me remind you again that one of the greatest reasons to write down your ideas is so you won’t forget them. By doing so, you’ll be able to implement them whenever the time comes.

Not every great idea is for you. A few years ago, I shared an idea with a friend, and he used it to build a successful business. Just because you won’t use an idea for yourself, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t share it with someone else in your circle who can successfully implement it and help strengthen your network.
